HYBRID_SEARCH=true (always-on for production quality). RERANK_URL +
OLLAMA_URL get set at compose time.

.gitea/workflows/refresh.yml: monthly cron (1st @ 06:00 UTC) does
full scrape → reindex → image push. Scrapes Bayer (~30 min) +
EPA PPLS row-crop filtered (~7h). Skips reindex+push if no corpus
diff. Tags pushed: :latest, :<sha12>, :corpus-<YYYY.MM.DD>.

.gitea/workflows/image-only.yml: on-demand or auto on code-only
pushes to main (paths: docs_mcp/, rag/, scrape/, requirements.txt,
Dockerfile, sources.json). Reindexes from committed corpus, builds
image, pushes. ~10 min vs ~9h full refresh.

.gitignore: corpus/ now COMMITTED (4,159 labels, 265 MB of .md +
sidecars). Lets image-only.yml rebuild indexes without re-scraping.
chroma/ + bm25/ still gitignored (regenerable binary indexes).

.dockerignore: drops venv, eval results, PLAN/README/CLAUDE.md,
deploy/, .git/ — keeps the image lean. corpus + chroma + bm25
explicitly NOT in dockerignore (those go INTO the image).

+Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
+Some materials that are chemical resistant to this product are listed below. 
+Applicators and other handlers must wear:
+x Coveralls worn over short-sleeved shirt and long pants
+x Socks and chemical-resistant footwear
+x Chemical-resistant gloves, such as barrier laminate, butyl rubber t14 mils, nitrile 
+rubber t14 mils, neoprene rubber t14 mils, polyvinyl chloride (PVC) t14 mils, or 
+Viton® t14 mils
+Follow manufacturer’s instructions for cleaning/maintaining PPE. If no such instructions 
+for washables exist, use detergent and hot water. Keep and wash PPE separately from 
+other laundry.
+When mixing or loading wear a chemical resistant apron. For overhead exposure wear 
+chemical-resistant headgear. When cleaning equipment wear a chemical-resistant 
+apron.
+Engineering Control Statements
+When handlers use closed systems, enclosed cabs, or aircraft in a manner that meets the 
+requirements listed in the Worker Protection Standard (WPS) for agricultural pesticides 
+[40 CFR 170.240(d)(4-6)], the handler PPE requirements may be reduced or modified as 
+specified in the WPS.
+User Safety Recommendations
+Users should:
+x Wash hands before eating, drinking, chewing gum, using tobacco, or using the toilet.

+Environmental Hazards
+This product is toxic to oysters. For terrestrial uses: DO NOT apply directly to water, to 
+areas where surface water is present, or to intertidal areas below the mean high water 
+mark. DO NOT contaminate water when disposing of equipment wash water or rinsate.
+NON-TARGET ORGANISM ADVISORY STATEMENT: This product is toxic to plants 
+and may adversely impact the forage and habitat of non-target organisms, including 
+pollinators, in areas adjacent to the treated site. Protect the forage and habitat of non-
+target organisms by following label directions intended to minimize spray drift.

+DIRECTIONS FOR USE
+It is a violation of Federal law to use this product in a manner inconsistent with its labeling.
+Axial XL Herbicide may be used only in accordance with directions on this label or in 
+separately published Syngenta supplemental labeling directions for this product.
+DO NOT apply this product in a way that will contact workers or other persons, either 
+directly or through drift. Only protected handlers may be in the area during application. 
+For any requirements specific to your State or Tribe, consult the agency responsible for 
+pesticide regulation.
+AGRICULTURAL USE REQUIREMENTS
+Use this product only in accordance with its labeling and with the Worker Protection 
+Standard, 40 CFR part 170. This Standard contains requirements for the protection of 
+agricultural workers on farms, forests, nurseries, and greenhouses, and handlers of 
+agricultural pesticides. It contains requirements for training, decontamination, 
+notification, and emergency assistance. It also contains specific instructions and 
+exceptions pertaining to the statements on this label about personal protective 
+equipment (PPE) and restricted-entry interval. The requirements in this box only apply 
+to uses of this product that are covered by the Worker Protection Standard.
+DO NOT enter or allow worker entry into treated areas during the restricted-entry 
+interval (REI) of 48 hours.
+PPE required for early entry to treated areas that is permitted under the Worker 
+Protection Standard and that involves contact with anything that has been treated, such 
+as plants, soil, or water is:
+x Coveralls worn over short-sleeved shirt and long pants
+x Socks and chemical-resistant footwear
+x Chemical-resistant gloves, such as barrier laminate, butyl rubber t14 mils, nitrile 
+rubber t14 mils, neoprene rubber t14 mils, polyvinyl chloride (PVC) t14 mils, or 
+Viton t14 mils
+FAILURE TO FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS FOR USE AND PRECAUTIONS ON THIS 
+LABEL MAY RESULT IN CROP INJURY AND/OR POOR WEED CONTROL.
+PRODUCT INFORMATION
+Axial XL Herbicide is a systemic, postemergence herbicide for the control of several grass 
+weed species in all varieties of spring wheat (excluding durum), winter wheat, and barley.
+

+Axial XL Herbicide is rapidly absorbed by weed foliage and translocated to the growing 
+points of leaves and stems where it inhibits the acetyl CoA carboxylase (ACCase) 
+enzyme. Susceptible weed species generally stop growing within 48 hours of treatment, 
+turn yellow within one to three weeks, and are completely controlled within three to five 
+weeks. Level and rate of control depend on weed species, growing conditions, crop 
+competition, and coverage. Thorough spray coverage of target weeds is essential for 
+consistent control.
+Although Axial XL Herbicide does not control broadleaf weeds, it can be tank mixed with 
+a wide range of broadleaf herbicides to provide broad-spectrum one-pass weed control. 
+It can also be tank mixed with Tilt® Fungicide, Quilt® Fungicide, Warrior II with Zeon 
+Technology®, and Karate® with Zeon Technology™. See the section entitled Tank 
+Mixes of Axial XL Herbicide with Broadleaf Weed Herbicides, Fungicides, 
+Insecticides and Liquid Nitrogen Fertilizers. Herbicides not listed on this label for tank 
+mixing with Axial XL Herbicide may be applied sequentially. For optimum results, apply 
+Axial XL Herbicide first and allow at least 4 days after application of Axial XL Herbicide 
+before applying these herbicides sequentially.
+Weeds Controlled
+Axial XL Herbicide controls green foxtail, yellow foxtail, giant foxtail, wild oat, volunteer 
+oat, Persian darnel, Italian (annual) ryegrass, barnyardgrass, canarygrass, wild proso 
+millet, and windgrass.
+Use Rates
+Apply the specified rate of Axial XL Herbicide using ground or aerial equipment, in a 
+minimum of 5 gal. of water per acre (see Ground and Aerial Application Procedures
+section for additional information).

+Resistance Management 
+PINOXADEN GROUP 1 HERBICIDE
+For resistance management, Axial Herbicide is a Group 1 herbicide (ACCase-inhibitor 
+mode of action). Some naturally occurring grass weed populations have been identified 
+as resistant to herbicides with the ACCase-inhibitor mode of action. Any weed 
+population may contain or develop plants naturally resistant to Axial Herbicide and other 
+Group 1 herbicides. Selection of resistant biotypes, through repeated use of these 
+herbicides in the same field or lower than labeled use rates, may result in weed control 
+failures. The resistant biotypes may dominate the weed population if these herbicides 
+are used repeatedly in the same field. Appropriate resistance management strategies 
+should be followed. If resistance is suspected, contact your local Syngenta 
+representative and/or agricultural advisor for assistance.
+Principles of Herbicide Resistant Weed Management
+Scout and know your field
+x Know weed species present in the field to be treated through scouting and field 
+history. An understanding of weed biology is useful in designing a resistance 
+management strategy. Ensure the weed management program will control all 
+weeds present.
+x Fields should be scouted prior to application to determine species present and 
+growth stage. Always apply this herbicide at the full labeled rate and correct 
+timing for the weeds present in the field. 
+Utilize non-herbicidal practices to add diversity
+x Use diversified management tactics including cover crops, mechanical weed 
+control, harvest weed seed control, and crop rotation as appropriate.
+Use good agronomic practices, start clean and stay clean
+x Use good agronomic practices that enhance crop competitiveness.
+x Plant into weed-free fields utilizing tillage or an effective burndown herbicide for 
+control of emerged weeds.
+x Sanitize farm equipment to avoid spreading seed or vegetative propagules prior 
+to leaving fields.
+Difficult to control weeds
+x Fields with difficult to control weeds should be planted in rotation with crops that 
+allow the use of herbicides with an alternative mode of action or different 
+management practices.
+x Difficult to control weeds may require sequential applications, for example a 
+broad spectrum preemergence herbicide followed by one or more
+

+postemergence herbicide applications. Utilize herbicides containing different 
+modes of action effective on the target weeds in sequential applications. 
+DO NOT overuse the technology
+x DO NOT use more than two applications of this or any other herbicide with the 
+same mode of action in a single growing season unless mixed with an herbicide 
+with a different mode of action which provides overlapping spectrum for the 
+difficult to control weeds.
+Scout and inspect fields following application
+x Prevent an influx of weeds into the field by controlling weeds in field borders.
+x Scout fields after application to verify that the treatment was effective.
+x Suspected- herbicide resistant weeds may be identified by these indicators
+• Failure to control a weed species normally controlled by the herbicide at 
+the dose applied, especially if control is achieved on adjacent weeds;
+• A spreading patch of non-controlled plants of a particular weed species; 
+and
+• Surviving plants mixed with controlled individuals of the same species.
+x Report non-performance of this product to your Syngenta retailer, Syngenta 
+representative, or call 1-866-Syngent(a) (866-796-4368). If resistance is 
+suspected ensure weed escapes are controlled using an herbicide with an 
+effective mode of action and/or use non-chemical means to prevent further seed 
+production.
+Prevent weed escapes before, during, and after harvest
+x DO NOT allow weed escapes to produce seed or vegetative structures for 
+example tubers or stolons which contribute to spread and survival. Consider 
+harvest weed seed management and control weeds post-harvest to prevent seed 
+production. 
+Resistant weeds
+Contact your local Syngenta representative, retailer, crop advisor or extension agent to 
+determine if weeds resistant to the mode of action contained in this product are present 
+in your area. Premixes are intended to broaden the spectrum of weeds that are 
+controlled. Some weeds may be controlled by only one of the active ingredients in this 
+product. If resistant biotypes have been reported, use the full labeled rate of this 
+product, apply at the labeled timing, and tank-mix with an additional different mode of 
+action product so there are multiple effective modes of application for each suspected 
+resistant weed.
+Rotational Crop Restrictions

+Timing of Application
+Apply Axial XL Herbicide to all varieties of spring wheat (excluding durum), winter wheat, 
+and barley from the 2-leaf stage to pre-boot stage. Refer to the Crop Use Directions
+section for grazing and harvest restrictions.
+Precaution: DO NOT apply to a crop that is stressed by conditions such as frost, low 
+fertility, drought, flooding, disease damage, or insect damage, as crop injury may result.
+When tank mixing with a broadleaf herbicide, insecticide or fungicide, always refer to the 
+label of the tank-mix partner prior to use.
+For optimum results, apply Axial XL Herbicide to actively growing weeds. An early 
+application will maximize crop yields by reducing weed competition. Weed control 
+following application of Axial XL Herbicide alone or in combination with broadleaf 
+herbicides can be reduced or delayed under conditions of stress, such as drought, heat, 
+insufficient fertility, flooding, and prolonged cool temperatures. Grass escapes or 
+re-tillering may occur if application is made during prolonged conditions of stress. 
+Optimum weed control will be obtained if application of Axial XL Herbicide is delayed until 
+the conditions of stress have ended and weeds are once again actively growing. Weeds 
+emerging after Axial XL Herbicide application will not be controlled.

+THE APPLICATOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR AVOIDING OFF-SITE SPRAY DRIFT. BE 
+AWARE OF NEARBY NON-TARGET SITES AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS.
+IMPORTANCE OF DROPLET SIZE
+An effective way to reduce spray drift is to apply large droplets. Use the largest droplets 
+that provide target pest control. While applying larger droplets will reduce spray drift, the 
+potential for drift will be greater if applications are made improperly or under unfavorable 
+environmental conditions.
+Controlling Droplet Size – Ground Boom
+x Volume - Increasing the spray volume so that larger droplets are produced will 
+reduce spray drift. Use the highest practical spray volume for the application. If a 
+greater spray volume is needed, consider using a nozzle with a higher flow rate.
+

+x Pressure - Use the lowest spray pressure recommended for the nozzle to 
+produce the target spray volume and droplet size.
+x Spray Nozzle - Use a spray nozzle that is designed for the intended application. 
+Consider using nozzles designed to reduce drift.
+Controlling Droplet Size – Aircraft
+x Adjust Nozzles - Follow nozzle manufacturers’ recommendations for setting up 
+nozzles. Generally, to reduce fine droplets, nozzles should be oriented parallel 
+with the airflow in flight.
+BOOM HEIGHT – Ground Boom
+For ground equipment, the boom should remain level with the crop and have minimal 
+bounce.
+RELEASE HEIGHT - Aircraft
+Higher release heights increase the potential for spray drift.
+SHIELDED SPRAYERS
+Shielding the boom or individual nozzles can reduce spray drift. Consider using shielded 
+sprayers. Verify that the shields are not interfering with the uniform deposition of the 
+spray on the target area.
+TEMPERATURE AND HUMIDITY
+When making applications in hot and dry conditions, use larger droplets to reduce 
+effects of evaporation.
+TEMPERATURE INVERSIONS 
+Drift potential is high during a temperature inversion. Temperature inversions are 
+characterized by increasing temperature with altitude and are common on nights with 
+limited cloud cover and light to no wind. The presence of an inversion can be indicated 
+by ground fog or by the movement of smoke from a ground source or an aircraft smoke 
+generator. Smoke that layers and moves laterally in a concentrated cloud (under low 
+wind conditions) indicates an inversion, while smoke that moves upward and rapidly 
+dissipates indicates good vertical air mixing. Avoid applications during temperature 
+inversions. 
+WIND 
+Drift potential generally increases with wind speed. AVOID APPLICATIONS DURING 
+GUSTY WIND CONDITIONS. 
+Applicators need to be familiar with local wind patterns and terrain that could affect 
+spray drift.
+

+Sensitive Areas
+This pesticide may only be applied when the potential for drift to adjacent sensitive areas, 
+e.g., residential areas, bodies of water, non-target plants is minimal, (i.e., when the wind 
+is blowing away from the sensitive area.)
+Avoid all direct or indirect contact (such as spray drift) of Axial XL Herbicide with crops 
+other than those specified for treatment on this label, since injury may occur.
+Chemigation 
+DO NOT apply this product through any type of irrigation system.
+MIXING PROCEDURES
+Mixing Instructions
+1. Clean spray tank and half fill with clean wate r. Start agitation or bypass system.
+2. If a broadleaf herbicide is to be used, add the product FIRST, prior to adding Axial 
+XL Herbicide and agitate for 2-3 minutes.
+3. Add correct amount of Axial XL Herbicide and agitate for 2-3 minutes.
+4. Add remainder of water and then maintain constant agitation.
+5. After any break in spraying operations, agitate thoroughly before spraying again.
+6. Use the spray solution as soon as it is prepared.
+Sprayer Cleanup
+Prior to using Axial XL Herbicide, ensure that the spray tank, lines and screens and 
+filters are thoroughly clean.
+Thoroughly clean application equipment immediately after spraying Axial XL Herbicide. 
+Ensure that all traces of the product are removed. The following directions are 
+provided:
+1. Drain and flush tank walls, boom, and all hoses for 10 minutes with clean water. 
+DO NOT clean the sprayer near desirable vegetation, wells, or other water 
+sources. 
+2. Remove the nozzles and screens and wash separately. 
+3. Dispose of all rinsates in accordance with state and local regulations.
+4. If a broadleaf herbicide, insecticide, or fungicide tank-mix partner is used, always 
+check tank-mix partner label for any additional cleanup procedures.

+CROP USE DIRECTIONS
+Wheat and Barley
+Axial XL Herbicide can be used on all varieties of spring wheat (excluding durum), winter 
+wheat, and barley. DO NOT allow spray to drift to adjacent fields seeded to crops other 
+than wheat or barley. DO NOT treat wheat or barley underseeded to forages.
+x Make one application per crop season, not to exceed 16.4 fl. oz. of Axial XL Herbicide 
+per acre per 12 consecutive months.
+x DO NOT graze livestock or harvest forage for hay from treated wheat and barley for a 
+minimum of 30 days following application.
+x DO NOT harvest grain for 60 days following application.
+x Wheat and barley straw may be fed to livestock 60 days after application.
+Tank Mixes of Axial XL Herbicide with Broadleaf Weed Herbicides, Fungicides, 
+Insecticides and Liquid Nitrogen Fertilizers 
+For broad-spectrum control of annual grass and broadleaf weeds, tank mix Axial XL 
+Herbicide with one of the broadleaf herbicides or broadleaf herbicide combinations listed 
+in the following table. Consult the label of the tank-mix partner for a list of broadleaf 
+weeds controlled, rates, application timing, recropping restrictions, grazing interval 
+restrictions, directions for use, and precautions. Use in accordance with the most 
+restrictive of label limitations and precautions. DO NOT exceed label dosage rates. This 
+product cannot be mixed with any other product whose label prohibits such a mixture.

+with Quilt Fungicide at 7 fl. oz./A. Refer to the Quilt Fungicide label for specific use

+Mixtures with Liquid Nitrogen Fertilizers
+Axial XL Herbicide may be mixed in a spray solution containing up to 50% liquid nitrogen 
+fertilizer. Add Axial XL Herbicide to the water first. Mix thoroughly, then add the liquid 
+nitrogen fertilizer in an amount no greater than 50% of the final volume. Note: Under 
+certain environmental conditions, mixtures of liquid nitrogen fertilizers as a partial carrier 
+may cause crop burn.
+When using Axial XL Herbicide with listed herbicide tank-mix partners, consult the label of 
+the partner product and follow any additional instructions or restrictions on that label 
+which relate to mixture with liquid nitrogen fertilizers.
+STORAGE AND DISPOSAL
+DO NOT contaminate water, food, or feed by storage or disposal.
+Pesticide Storage
+Store in a cool, dry place. DO NOT store near seeds, fertilizers, or foodstuffs.
+Pesticide Disposal
+Pesticide wastes are toxic. Improper disposal of excess pesticides, spray mixture, or 
+rinsate is a violation of Federal law. If these wastes cannot be disposed of by use 
+according to label instructions, contact your State Pesticide or Environmental Control 
+Agency, or the Hazardous Waste representative at the nearest EPA Regional Office for 
+guidance.
+Container Handling
+For containers equal to or less than 5 gallons:
+Non-refillable container. DO NOT reuse or refill this container. Offer for recycling if 
+available. Triple rinse container (or equivalent) promptly after emptying. Triple rinse as 
+follows: empty the remaining contents into application equipment or a mix tank and 
+drain for 10 seconds after the flow begins to drip. Fill the container ¼ full with water and 
+recap. Shake for 10 seconds. Pour rinsate into application equipment or a mix tank or 
+store rinsate for later use or disposal. Drain for 10 seconds after the flow begins to drip. 
+Repeat this procedure two more times.
+For containers greater than 5 gallons: Refillable container. Refill this container with 
+pesticide only. DO NOT use this container for any other purpose. Cleaning the 
+container before final disposal is the responsibility of the person disposing of the 
+container. Cleaning before refilling is the responsibility of the refiller. To clean 
+container before final disposal, empty the remaining contents from this container into 
+application equipment or mix tank. Fill the container about 10 percent full with water. 
+Agitate vigorously or recirculate water with the pump for 2 minutes. Pour or pump
+

+rinsate into application equipment or rinsate collection system. Repeat this rinsing 
+procedure two more times. Then offer for recycling if available or puncture and dispose 
+of in a sanitary landfill, or by incineration, or, if allowed by state and local authorities, by 
+burning. If burned, stay out of smoke. If the container is damaged, leaking, or obsolete, 
+contact Syngenta Crop Protection, LLC, at 1-800-888-8372. 
+For minor spills, leaks, etc., follow all precautions indicated on this label and clean up 
+immediately. Take special care to avoid contamination of equipment and facilities during 
+cleanup procedures and disposal of wastes. In the event of a major spill, fire, or other 
+emergency, call 1-800-888-8372, day or night.
