GENERAL INFORMATION BRONA TE'" GEl is formulated as a gelatinous mixture containing the equivalent of 2.5 los. per gallon of bromoxyni and 2.5 pounds par gallon of isooctyIs5ler of MCPA. BRONA TE'" GEl is packaged in convenient water soluble bags. BRONA TE'" GEL is a selective postemergenc& herbicide for control of important broadleaf weeds infesting smal grains (wheat, barIoy, oats, rye), and conservation reserve program areas. Optimum weed control is obtained when BRONA TE" GEl is applied to activaly growing weed seedlings. BRONA TE" GEL is primarily a contact herbicide, therefore thorough coverage of the weed seedlings is essential for optimum control BRONATE'" GEL has little residual activity. Therefore subsequent flushes of weeds will not be controlled by the initial treatment. Generally, crops that form a good canopy will help shade subsequent weed flushes. However, certain crops or short-straw varieties, for example Yaccora Rojo whea~ may not develop the crop canopy fast enough to shade the subsequent flushes of weeds. • Occasional transitory leaf bum may occur. The temporary leaf bum is similar to that seen with liquid fertilizer. Because the activity of .. . BRONA TE" GEL is mainly contact, recovery of the crop is generaUy rapid wiIh no lasting effoct. Frequency and amount of leaf bum :"', ' may be groater when crops are stressed by abrasive winds, cool to cold evening temperatures or mechanical injury, such as that . ~.:' .. '! . caused by hail, sleet or insect feeding. To reduce the potential for temporary leaf bum, applications should be made to dry foliage in .', . the recommended spray volumes par acre When weather conditions are not 8X\nIma. t~::'~:l __ ~:~ . - -- -~ - t, , 1}.';}~~~" .. ~ ; '.~ - ,_. - - ;- .. - . :-;:: .. ~;.-... ~-, , r.- ," .- • : GEL may be reduced. In general a minimum spray volume 0110 gallons per aae (GPA) is recommended for optimum spray coverage. A minimum of 5 GPA wfth a mirimum spray pressure of 50 psi may be used with higher speed, low volume ground application if ground terrain. crop and woad density dow effective spray distribution. When using higher spaed equipment a maximum spoad of 10 mph is suggested ff field cond~ions causa "xcossivo boom movoment during application and subsequent poor spray coverage. When weed infestations are heavy, usa 01 higher spray volumes arid spray pressure wi" be helpful in obtaining uniform weed cawrago. Ground applications made whan dry, dusty field conditions exist may provide reduced weed control in wheal track areas. 00 not apply when winds are gusty or when other conditions favor poor spray coverage andIor off target spray movement AERIAL APPLICATION Use orifoce discs, cores and nozzle types arid arrangements that will provide for optimum spray distribution arid maximum coverage. In ganera! a minimum spray volume of 5 GPA arid a maximum pressure of 40 psi are f9C0mmended. A minimum spray wlume of 3 GPA may be used ff crop canopy and weed dart'Sijy allow adequate spray cov9l'aga at that gallonage. 00 not apply during inversion cond~ions, when winds ara gusty or when other conditions favor poor spray coverage andIor off target spray movement Off target spray movement can be minimized by increasing the spray voIuma per acta and not appfying when winds 9xoead 10 mph.
