As soon as possible, wash thoroughly and change into clean clothing. ENVIRONMENTAL HAZARDS This pesticide is toxic to fish and aquatic invertebrates. Applying this product when rain is not predicted for the next 24 hours will help reduce potential risk to aquatic invertebrates by reducing pesticide runoff from the treatment area into water bodies. Do not apply directly to water, or to areas where surface water is present or to intertidal areas below the mean high water mark. Do not contaminate water when disposing of equipment washwater or rinsate. Drift or run-off from treated areas is hazardous to fish and aquatic organisms in water adjacent to treated areas. Treated seed exposed on soil surface may be hazardous to wildlife. Cover or collect seed spilled during loading. This product has properties and characteristics associated with ch emicals detected in ground water. This chemical may leach into ground water if used in areas where soils are permeable, particula rly where the water table is shallow. Therefore contain any product spills or equipment leaks and dispose of wastes according to the disposal instructions on this label. 33 DIRECTIONS FOR USE It is a violation of Federal law to use this product in a manner inconsistent with its labeling. Any fungal population may contain individuals naturally resistant to EverGol Xtend and other Group 7 or Group 11 fungicides. A gradual or total loss of pest control may occur over time if these (fungicides) are used repeatedly in the same fields. Appropriate resistance-management strategies should be followed. [Note to reviewer: We disagree with the statement “Rotate the use of (name of product) or other Group (mode of action group number) fungicides within a growing season sequence with different groups that control the same pathogens. Evergol Xtend is used for seed treatment, and seed treatment scenarios are different compared to multiple foliar applications where the risk of resistance development is much higher. We believe the forementioned statement would lead to confusion for the grower since seed treatment is a once off application and there are no opportunities to rotate. We are already addressing the management strategy of using different groups because EverGol Xtend is a combination product of two active ingredients with two different MoA’s. The foliar fungicides that would be used after emergence have no effect on seed and seedling diseases on the EverGol Xtend label. In the case of Aschochyta and loose smut we recommend adding the statement “Because of the minimal amount of EverGol Xtend applied to the seed that relocates to the upper parts of the plant and the dual mode of action, the potential for development of resistance is low. Seed treatments of EverGol Xtend can, therefore, be followed by foliar use and resistance management guidelines of foliar use products containing the same mode of action as specified on the respective labels.”] To delay fungicide resistance, take one or more of the following steps: x Because of minimal amount of EverGol Xtend applied to seed that relocates to the upper parts of the plant and the dual mode of action, the potential for development of resistance is low. Seed treatments of EverGol Xtend can, therefore, be followed by foliar use and resistance management guidelines of foliar use products containing the same mode of action as specified on the respective labels. x Use tank mixtures with fungicide from a different group that are equally effective on the target pest when such use is permitted. Use at least the minimum application rate as labeled by the manufacturer. x Where possible, make use of predictive disease models to effectively time fungicide applications. Note that using predictive models alone is not sufficient to manage resistance. x Adopt an integrated disease management program for fungicide use that includes scouting, uses historical information related to pesticide use, and crop rotation, and which considers host plant resistance, impact of environmental conditions on disease development, disease thresholds, as well as cultural, biological and other chemical control practices. x Monitor treated fungal populations for resistance development. x Contact your local extension specialist or certified crop advisor for any additional pesticide resistance-management and/or IPM recommendations for specific crops and pathogens. x For further information or to report suspected resistance contact Bayer CropScience at 1-866-99BAYER (1-866-992- 2937). You can also contact your pesticide distributor or university extension specialist to report resistance. INFORMATION EverGol Xtend is a fungicide seed dressing for protection against listed soilborne, seedborne, and early season post-emergence diseases of listed crop plants.
