TRASH IN THE SOIL SHOULD BE WEll DECOMPOSED BEFORE APPLlCA· TION. PREPLANT TREATMENTS ROW: Apply DURHAM NEMATOCIDE EM 8.6 FOR 8·24-0 FERTI­ LIZER SOLUTION in rows to be planted at a depth of 6" to 8", taking care to seal the chisel channels with a press wheel. Adjust chisels at same spacing as planter. Do not plant or dis­ turb soil if preplant treatment is used for 7 to 14 days on shallow root crops, and 4 to 8 weeks for aeep rooted crops. Use one to three applicator chisels depending upon width of treated areas desired. One chisel will treat a 12 inch strip. Two chisels lspaced 12 inches apart) will treat a 24 inch strip. Dosage per acre in row treatment must be reduced from the over-all dosage in proportion to the actual area treated. For example. if a 24-inch wide strip were treated and the rows wre 48 inches aprt. then the dosage per acre for row treat­ ment would iJe 1:2 the dc:;age per acre for over-all treatment. OVERALL: Apply DURHAM NEMATOCIDE EM 8.6 FOR 8·24-0 FER· TlliZER SOLUTION evenly in rows 12H apart at a depth oi 6" to 8", taking cale to seal channels with a drag or press wheel. ')0 not plant or disturb soil if preplant treatment is used for 7 to 14 days on shallow rooted r:rops, and 4 to 8 weeks for deep rooted crops. POSTPLANT TREATMENT or ANNUALS: Apply DURHAM NEMATO­ CIDE EM 8.6 FOR 8-24·0 FERTILIZER SOLUTION as suggested in thiS label as a band or side dressing at least 6" deep as close to the plant as possible without disturbing the roots.' CAUTION 
Treatment may tempufarily raise the level of ammonia nitrogen 
and ~oluble salts in the soil. This is most likely to occur wO'~n 
heavy rates of fertilizer and nematocide are applied to cold, 
wet, acid or nigh in organic matter soils. To avoid root injury 
of ammonl~ sensitive pl~nts pla~ your fertilizallon program 
based on nitrogen levels 10 the SOil afler treatment with nema­
tocide. It IS. suggested t~at on ammonia sensitive plants, ferti­
lizers c(JntalnlOg ammonium salts not be used until after the 
crop is lVell established and the soil temperature is above 
65" F. 
Certain crops such as cotton and pineapple are tolerant to 
ammonia and the above does not apply.
