Image rebuild (skip scrape) / build (push) Failing after 1h37m12s
docker: production image + Gitea Actions for monthly refresh
Dockerfile: self-contained image with corpus + Chroma + BM25 baked
in. Drawbar's compose pulls + runs without volume mounts. Built from
sources.json (labels schema), PRODUCT_NAME=crop_chem by default,
HYBRID_SEARCH=true (always-on for production quality). RERANK_URL +
OLLAMA_URL get set at compose time.

.gitea/workflows/refresh.yml: monthly cron (1st @ 06:00 UTC) does
full scrape → reindex → image push. Scrapes Bayer (~30 min) +
EPA PPLS row-crop filtered (~7h). Skips reindex+push if no corpus
diff. Tags pushed: :latest, :<sha12>, :corpus-<YYYY.MM.DD>.

.gitea/workflows/image-only.yml: on-demand or auto on code-only
pushes to main (paths: docs_mcp/, rag/, scrape/, requirements.txt,
Dockerfile, sources.json). Reindexes from committed corpus, builds
image, pushes. ~10 min vs ~9h full refresh.

.gitignore: corpus/ now COMMITTED (4,159 labels, 265 MB of .md +
sidecars). Lets image-only.yml rebuild indexes without re-scraping.
chroma/ + bm25/ still gitignored (regenerable binary indexes).

.dockerignore: drops venv, eval results, PLAN/README/CLAUDE.md,
deploy/, .git/ — keeps the image lean. corpus + chroma + bm25
explicitly NOT in dockerignore (those go INTO the image).

UNITED STATES ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AGENCY
Mr. Scott Baker
Platte Chemical Company
P.O. Box 667
Greeley, CO 80632-0667
Dear Mr. Baker:
WASHINGTON, D.C. 20460
OFFICE OF
PREVENTION. PESTICIDES
AND TOXIC SUBSTANCES
FEB 27 2003
Subject: Amendment - Update to match use patterns and limitations appearing on source
material label [delete Leatherleaf Fern, Succulent Ornamentals
(greenhouse and out-of-doors), Alfalfa (grown for forage),
Sugar Beets, and Sunflower]
Thiodan 3 EC
EPA Registration Number 34704-21
Your submissions of December 12,2002 and February 27,2003
The amendment referred to above, submitted in connection with registration under FIFRA
section 3(c)(7)(a), is acceptable and a stamped copy is enclosed for your records.
When preparing the finished label, please incorporate the following revisions:
a. On the front panel, under the product name add "For Agricultural or Commercial Use Only"
and directly under this add "Not for use or storage in or around residential sites - see
DIRECTIONS FOR USE / APPLICATION DIRECTIONS for prohibited areas.".
b. In the ingredients statement, revise ACTIVE INGREDIENTS to ACTIVE INGREDIENT
since there is only one.
c. The Hazards to Humans and Domestic Animals text is incomplete.
After "Fatal (poisonous) if swallowed, inhaled, or absorbed though skin." add "Corrosive.
Causes irreversible eye damage." Replace "Avoid contact with skin eyes, or clothing." with
"Do not get in eyes, on skin, or on clothing.". Replace "Do not breathe vapor." with "Do not
breathe vapor or spray mist. Do not contaminate food or feed. Keep out of reach of domestic
animals. Food utensils such as measuring cups must not be used for food purposes after use
in measuring pesticides.".
d. Update the Statement of Practical Treatment to the First Aid format detailed in PR Notice
200 I-I. In the If Swallowed advice, be sure to add "or convulsing" after unconscious" in
the last sentence of that section •
2
e. Revise the Note to Physician to read as follows:
NOTE TO PHYSICIAN
Endosulfan is a central nervous system stimulant absorbable by mouth, inhalation, or through
contact with skin. It may cause convulsions. There is no specific antidote. Diazepam I. V. is
the drug of choice. Barbituric acid derivatives such as Phenobarbital may be used additionally.
A neuromuscular blocking agent may be used if convulsions persist. This type of drug may be
used only if complete control of respiration can be maintained. Epinephrine derivatives are
absolutely contraindicated. This product contains petroleum hydrocarbons (xylene range
aromatic solvent). Care should be taken to prevent aspiration because of the possibility of
chemical pneumonia or pulmonary edema due to the organic solvent in the formulation.
f Please refer to PR Notice 98-9 for updated pesticide respirator recommendation text to
appear in the PPE listing for applicators and other handlers.
g. Assuming that the referral "See supplemental label for directions for use in California." refers
just to the "Procedures for reducing risks of contamination of aquatic ecosystems" (you did
not submit the supplemental label), then this product would not be adequately labeled for use
in California since that State has separate requirements related to crops, pests which can be
claimed, application rates, number of applications permitted, and PHIs. If you refer to one of
your competitor's labels that bears California labeling, it would show that they either elected
to register a separate California label or else chose a combination label format that lists each
crop twice, the first bearing directions and limitation for all states except California and the
second bearing directions and limitation for use only in California. Either delete the reference
to use in California and the supplemental label and add "Not for use in California", or if sale in
California is intended then retain the referral which should be revised to read "This product
may be use in California by following the specific crop directions indicated for use in that
State plus the SUPPLEMENTAL LABEL found at the end of this labe1.", add the
supplemental label to the back of the label, and expand the directions to include both "except
CA" and "CA only directions" for each crop.
h. Directly under the heading APPLICATION DIRECTIONS, add "Not of use or storage in or
around residential sites, including, homes, non-agricultural outbuildings, non-commercial
greenhouses, recreational vehicles, preschools, day care centers, and not for application to
humans and pets.". Then, before the current text add "Do not use in undiluted form.".
The recommendation for ground application in a minimum of 10 gallons of water per acre
should add "on vegetable or row crops (unless otherwise noted)". For aerial application, the
recommendation should be changed from "a minimum of 1 gallon of finished spray per acre
on deciduous trees and vines" to "a minimum of 1 gallon of finished spray per acre on
vegetable and field crops (unless otherwise noted) and a minimum of 20 gallons of finished
spray per acre on fruit and nut trees and on vines".
i. Delete the unsupported crops Alfalfa (grown for forage), Sugar Beets, and Sunflower.
3
J. A number of crops do not have the correct current Pre-Harvest Intervals. For Cucumbers,
Melons, and Summer and Winter Squash the PHIs should be 2 days rather than 0 days For
Potatoes, Sweet Corn, and Sweet Potatoes the PHIs should be I day rather than 0 days.
For Tomatoes, the PHI should be 2 days rather than 1 day.
k. Current Endosulfan end-use products include specified limits as to the amount of active
ingredient (and of actual product) permitted on a given crop per year for all uses. These
limitations, together with overall notes, such as livestock feeding prohibitions or the number
of permitted applications, should appear at the end of a given crop's directions and should be
set apart either as bulleted items or if you choose running text format they should be
preceded by "For All Uses:". Please refer to the enclosed sample label for assistance in add
these limitations for crops already approved for your product. Please do not add crops which
may appear on the sample label but which are not currently approved for your product.
1. For Barley, Oats, Rye, Wheat revise the pest entry from Army Cutworm to Armyworms,
Cutworms. Change the feeding limitation to read "to livestock" rather than "to dairy animals
or animals being finished for slaughter". Also, add an overall limitation to 2 applications per
year.
m. For Broccoli, etc. add an overall limitation of 4 applications per year.
n. For Carrots, revise the overall limitation to I application per year.
o. For Celery (7 day PHI) revise the overall limitation to 2 applications per year. For Celery
(4 day PHI) revise the overall limitation to 1 application per year.
p. For Cucumbers, etc. specifY a limit of 6 applications per year (Note- use in California will be
limited to 3 per year).
q. For Eggplants, specifY a limit of 2 applications per year (N ote- use in California will be
limited to 1 per year).
r. For Peas, revise the crop entry to read "Peas (succulent, excludes seed crop)". Change the
limitation to read "per year" rather than "during the fruiting period".
s. For Peppers, add a limit of2 applications per year.
t. For Potatoes, add a limit of 6 applications per year.
u. For Spinach, add per year" to the limitation.
v. For Strawberries, add a limit of3 applications per year.
w. For Sweet Com, change the spray interval to 5 days and add a limit of 5 applications per
year.
4
X. For Sweet Potatoes, add a limit of3 applications per year.
y. For Tobacco, add a limit of 6 applications per year.
z. For Tomatoes, add a limit of 6 applications per year.
aa. For Apples, add a limit of2 applications during the fiuiting period and 3 applications per
year (Note - use in California will be limited to 2 applications per year). Also, please note the
maximum allowed rate of application is 3 113 qts. per acre.
bb. For Cherry, revise the limitation to read "per year" rather than "after shuck split".
cc. For Peaches, Apricots, and Nectarines, revise the ,imitation to read "per year" rather than
"during the fruiting period".
dd. For Cherry, Peach, and Plum Nursery Stock Dip, replace "Wear rubber gloves when
dipping." with "Full personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements for applicators
also apply to this dipping operation." .
ee. For Grapes, add a limit of3 applications per year.
fr. For Pears, what is meant by the entry "The rate for a foliar treatment on stink bug control is
30 days"? This is especially confusing given the next sentence ''Do Not apply more than once
per season.". ClarifY or revise the directions for this crop per the enclosed sample label.
Add an overall limitation of2 applications per year (the separate use-dependent limitations
will not appear). Be sure to add the note about aerial application.
gg. For Pecans, add a limit of2 applications per year.
hh. Separate the directions for use on ornamentals from the food crops and add the heading
"Ornamental Trees and Shrubs (Commercially grown outdoors in nurseries only)".
Please submit 5 copies of labeling bearing the above revisions as soon as it becomes available.
Thank you for your prompt cooperation in this regard.
Sincerely,
George T. LaRocca
