NUI'E 'ID PFYSICIAN (Treatrrent): Atropine is the specific therapeutic antagonist of i 
r:hoice against parasympathetic nervous stimulation. If there are signs of parasyrrpathetic 
stimulation, atropine sulfate should be injected at 10 minute intervals in ooses I 
of 1 to 2 milligrams until carplete atropinization has oc=red. MJrphine is : 
contraindicated. Clear chest by postural drainage. Oxygen adninistration may be 'I 
necessary. Ob=rve patient continuously for 48 hours. Repeated exposure to 
cholinesterase inhibitors rmy, without warning, cause prolollJed susceptibility to ' 
very srmll doses of any cholinesterase inhibitor. Allow no further exp:JSure \IDtil ! 
the t:iJre for cholinesterase regeneration has been determined by blood tests. 2-PAM I 
is also antidotal and ma.y be administered in conjunction with atro;:Jll1e.
