CAN AFFECT CROP GROWTH AND/OR YIELD.
EACH GROWER WHO IS CONSIDERING THE PRODUCT FOR SUCH USE SHOULD TEST Prowl H2O IN
ORDER TO DETERMINE ITS SUITABILITY. A GROWER SHOULD USE Prowl H2O ONLY TO THE EXTENT
THAT IN HIS SOLE OPINION THE BENEFIT OF Prowl H2O USE OUTWEIGHS THE POTENTIAL INJURY TO
THE GROWER'S CROP.
NUMEROUS RISKS OF LOSS OR DAMAGE TO DRY BULB ONION CROPS MAY BE ASSOCIATED WITH
THE USE OF Prowl H2O, EVEN WHEN Directions For Use ARE FOLLOWED COMPLETELY. THESE
INCLUDE SWELLING OF ROOTS OR OTHER BELOW-GROUND PLANT PARTS, LESS VIGOROUS PLANT
GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT, AND REDUCTION IN YIELD POTENTIAL. Prowl H2O MAY ALSO CAUSE
INJURY TO SENSITIVE ROTATIONAL CROPS. THE USER OR GROWER SHOULD TAKE ALL SUCH RISKS
INTO CONSIDERATION BEFORE DECIDING TO APPLY THE PRODUCT.

Directions For Use
It is a violation of federal law to use this product in
a manner inconsistent with its labeling. This label
and the current EPA-accepted label for
Prowl® H2O herbicide, EPA Reg. No. 241-418,
must be in the possession of the user at the time
of pesticide application.
Read the label affixed to the container for
Prowl H2O before applying.
Observe all cautions and limitations on this label
and on the labels of products used in combination
with Prowl H2O. Always follow the most
restrictive label. DO NOT use Prowl H2O other
than in accordance with the instructions set forth
on this label. The use of Prowl H2O not
consistent with this label may result in injury to
crops. Keep containers closed to avoid spills and
contamination.
Endangered Species Protection
This product may have effects on federally listed
threatened or endangered plant species or their
critical habitat. When using this product, you must
follow the measures contained in the Endangered
Species Protection Bulletin for the county or
parish in which you are applying the pesticide. To
determine whether your county or parish has a
Bulletin, and to obtain that Bulletin, consult
http://www.epa.gov/espp/, or call 1-800-447-3813
no more than 6 months before using this product.
Applicators must use Bulletins that are in effect in
the month in which the pesticide will be applied.
New Bulletins will generally be available from the
above sources 6 months prior to their effective
dates.
If endangered plant species occur in proximity to
the application site, the following mitigation
measures are required:
 If applied by ground, leave untreated buffer
zone of 200 feet. The product must be applied
using a low boom (20 inches above the ground)
and ASAE fine to medium/coarse nozzles.
SPRAY DRIFT. Avoiding spray drift at the
application site is the responsibility of the
applicator and the grower. The interaction of many
equipment-related and weather-related factors
determines the potential for spray drift. The
applicator and grower are responsible for
considering all these factors when making
decisions. It is the responsibility of the applicator
to avoid spray drift onto nontarget areas.
Product Information
Prowl H2O may be applied for preemergence
weed control of most annual grasses and certain
broadleaf weeds as they germinate, but it will not
control established weeds. Unusually cold,
excessively wet, or hot and dry conditions that
delay germination or extend it over a long period
of time may reduce weed control.
Overapplication can result in crop stand loss, crop
injury, or rotational crop injury.
Uneven application or improper soil incorporation
can decrease weed control or cause crop injury.
Soil incorporation deeper than recommended can
reduce weed control.
Seedling diseases, cold weather, excessive
moisture, shallow or deep planting, low or high
soil pH, high soil salt concentration, or drought
can weaken seedlings and plants and increase
the possibility of crop damage from Prowl H2O.
Under these conditions, crop yields can be
reduced.
Use of Prowl H2O in accordance with label
directions is expected to result in normal growth of
rotational crops in most situations; however,
various environmental and agronomic factors
make it impossible to eliminate all risks associated
with the use of this product and, therefore,
rotational crop injury is always possible.
Application Instructions
For control of annual grass and small seeded
broadleaf weeds as specified in the Prowl H2O
container label, uniformly plant dry bulb onions
1-inch deep and ensure that the furrow is
thoroughly covered with soil. Failure to plant dry
bulb onions a minimum of 1-inch deep in the
soil increases the injury potential.
Apply Prowl H2O after germination of the onion
seed but prior to emergence (delayed
preemergence) when 75% of the radicals have
developed on the onion seedlings. Radical
emergence should be determined by digging
onion seedlings at random locations in a field and
noting radical elongation.
Apply Prowl H2O at rates on mineral soils
specified in the following table. Prowl H2O will not
control emerged weeds. For effective weed
control, Prowl H2O must be applied to clean-tilled
soil or tank mixed with a burndown herbicide to
control emerged weeds prior to onion emergence.
Uniformly apply in 10 or more gallons of water per
acre with ground equipment.
3
Prowl® H2O herbicide is most effective when
adequately incorporated by rainfall or irrigation.
DO NOT apply more than 0.25 inches of initial
overhead irrigation following delayed
preemergence application of Prowl H2O on dry
bulb onions.

Coarse 1.0 to 2.0 0.48 to 0.95
Medium 1.5 to 2.5 0.71 to 1.19
Fine 1.5 to 3.0 0.71 to 1.43
Notes:
1. On coarse-textured soils (> 90% sand
content), the risk of crop injury is greater than
with medium-textured or fine-textured soils.
Potential injury may be due to variability within
soil type.
2. Higher use rates of Prowl H2O within soil
types may result in greater chances of crop
injury.
3. If loss of onions occurs due to adverse
weather conditions, any crop registered for
Prowl H2O preplant incorporated use can be
replanted the same year into Prowl H2O-
treated soil without adverse effects. If
replanting is necessary, soil should not be
reworked deeper than 2 inches.
Prowl H2O may be applied sequentially in dry
bulb seeded onions. Apply first application of
Prowl H2O delayed preemergence according to
this supplemental label. Apply sequential
applications of Prowl H2O early postemergence
(up to 9th true-leaf stage) according to the
Prowl H2O main label.
Restrictions and Limitations
DO NOT exceed the maximum labeled rate for a
given mineral soil texture.
DO NOT exceed a total of 3.0 pints of
Prowl H2O per acre per year.
DO NOT apply this product through any type of
irrigation system or by air.
DO NOT apply preplant incorporated or preplant.
DO NOT apply within 45 days of harvest.
DO NOT feed or graze for livestock.
